The Swans Dialectic

reading the past to write the future

The Swans Dialectic is a collection of essays, reading notes, astrological reflections and delineations. Filled with history, natural philosophy, art, and tangents into forgotten texts and people. To dive into the waters of time is to accept an ancient and quiet delegation: to sit among the forgotten, to hold what was left unsaid, and to feel, for a moment, the forlorn shape of being that only stories can remember.

K Melissa Lin is a Timekeeper–traditional astrologer and studying historian–focusing on the transmission of knowlege and cycles of time. She grew up with star stories and natural philosophy as a household language, read her first astrology book at nine, and loved the dictionary before any other book. Her quiet ambition is for the The Swans Dialectic to transform into a The Swans Dialecticum–a physical quarterly newspaper. Her personal motto: “The astrology is always right; that doesn’t mean the astrologer is.”
